The Month Ahead At Prep: December – PrepVolleyball.com | Club Volleyball | High School Volleyball

It’s that time once again, a month full of holiday cheer and high school awards! Yes, Award Season is finally here and this month we’ve got a ton of presents to unwrap for our readers. So, let’s take a look at what you can look forward to in December!

Beginning December 5, The Top 100 High School Teams will be released in groups of 25 starting with 76-100 on Monday, followed by 51-75 on Tuesday, 26-50 on Wednesday, and No. 1-25 on Thursday.

Our High School Fall Stars will also begin in the first week of December, beginning with the Freshman Class (2026) next week, with each class being released at the beginning of the week and the National Player of The Year for the corresponding class at the end of the week.

For those who don’t recall, the Fall Stars is an award for those players who have had fantastic breakout seasons for their class but may not be completely comparable to those upperclassmen, specifically seniors. It is in place of the Frosh 59, Sophisticating 79, and Top 50 Juniors. Senior Aces will still be released at the conclusion of the 2023 18’s Club campaign, so there will be no nomination process at this time.

Starting the second week of December, our High School All-American selections will begin to be announced, with five categories this year: Special Mentions, Honorable Mentions, Third Team, Second Team, and First Team. The First team will be announced December 22, just before the holiday weekend.

Our Andi Collins Award and National Coach of The Year, as well as our National Team of The Year awards will all release the week before New Years as well.

We will continue to release our updated list of Recent Commitments throughout the month every Wednesday, as well as our monthly release of the College Needs List, College Classifieds, and Recruiting Class Rankings as well.

At the conclusion of Award Season, we will begin Club Coverage, including a post-high school/pre-club update to our Top 150 Player Rankings for each class, so be on the lookout for that as well as our Power 50 Club Rankings, with each age group 14-18’s to be released one week at a time each month.
