NW Vs NYS match highlights: Eoin Morgan’s unbeaten 87-run surge helped New York Strikers overcome Northern Warriors by 5 wickets, shattering any chances of a convincing victory for them.

Chasing the target of 144 in a 10-over game, the ex-English skipper turned back the clock and smashed 12 fours and 3 maximums to collect 87 in just 35 to hand his side an impossible looking win.

This win helps New York Strikers to climb to second spot at the points table with 4 wins in 5 games.

Earlier, Opener Usman Khan and the skipper of Northern Warriors starred with the bat for their team as Khan shot 24-ball 48, while Powell recorded 54 in juts 19 to guide his side to 143 in 10 overs.

Opting to bat, the warriors made a solid start with 25 for no loss in 2.3, but a caught and bowl by Akeal Hosein braked the partnership.

But, the real entertaining partnership was yet to come, as Usman Khan and Rovman Powell started smashing the ball all around the ground and targeted every bowler.

They collected 76 runs for the second wicket in just 33 balls before Khan missed his well-deserved half-century. He walked back after scoring 48 in 24. His knock included six fours and two maximums.

Sherfane Rutherford also did his part at last with an unbeaten 5-ball 16 to help his side post 143 on board in 10 overs.

Akeal Hosein was the most economical bowler in the whole line-up for New York Strikers. He gave 16 runs and took a wicket in 2-over spell.

Chasing a mammoth target, New York Strikers faced a big shock as lost their first wicket on the very first ball of the over as Andre Fletcher gone for duck.

Eoin Morgan the joined Paul Stirling and both were smashing hard and collected 29 runs in next 13 before Junaid Siddique bowled Stirling to put pressure on the NYS.
